Vikings Return to Sigtuna
Founded by Erik the Victorious during the Viking Age, Sigtuna is known as Sweden's oldest town. This summer, take a trip back in time and visit Sigtuna's Viking Village. Experience Sigtuna at the turn of the millennium, 1000 A.D., where Vikings and travellers came from near and far to trade, socialize and exchange favors. Sigtuna's Viking Village is a handicraft center in the heart of Sigtuna. Come and live like a Viking, bake bread over an open fire, use a longbow or try out any other of the many experiences available. Feeling adventurous?Become part of the crew tothe long ships Langsveiger or Nöireven. The Viking homecoming starts June 12 and continues through out the summer to August 3. Group bookings, conference activities and tailored tours of Old Town Sigtuna can be booked through Sigtuna Turism. Bolaget bildades 1992 och ägs till 47 procent av Sigtuna kommun och till 53 procent av lokala privata företagare. Bolaget driver bland annat Sveriges första hållbarhetsnätverk för hotell- och mötesanläggningar, ett hotellnätverk och Frukostklubben.
